Arising from the ashes of bands in the Towson/Catonsville, MD underground music scene whose landmarks were groups like The Oxes & Roads to Space Travel and legendary all-ages venue The Small Intestine, Motio existed for about 30 shows in the brief moment in time from 2001-03. Not afraid to hurt your ears a little bit, they fused Steve Albini-esque production techniques and guitar arrangements sonically akin to Scratch Acid & early Pixies with the pop sensibility of This Year’s Model-era Elvis Costello. This CD is a re-mastered reissue of their original 4 song EP. In addition to the Motio reunion in 2006, the band members are all active musicians in the Baltimore scene. Motio drummer Gary Barrett, Jr. now heads the rock outfit Gary B and the Notions (vocals & guitar), backed up by Motio guitarist Timothy Sullivan (lead guitar). Matthew Dahl shares his time between playing bass with folksters The Gold-Bug and handling vocals & bass for rocksters The Way-Outs.
