Release Date: 2/6/07 - Shipping Now!!

On How to WIN! Maria Bamford, of the popular Comedy Central program Comedians of Comedy, guides her audience on how to live life as a temp, make a comedy club reservation, deal with your high school nemesis, and age gracefully. Maria takes listeners through an off-kilter life primer via sharp observation, a quiet unassuming demeanor and an amazing ability to instantly shift from one character to another. Audiences have long been delighted by Bamford's vast repertoire of distinct voices, especially as her own is so childlike and How to WIN! showcases this talent to the fullest. Bamford has appeared on numerous television shows including Jimmy Kimmel Live, Mystery Science Theater 3000, Tom Goes to the Mayor, and The Tonight Show with Jay Leno. Maria also has a new special that will air on Comedy Central on February 16th and is riding high after a recent run of performances at the San Francisco Sketch Fest alongside comedic luminary David Cross.

NEW DISTRIBUTED TITLES:

DEERHUNTER
Title: Cryptograms
Format: CD
Label: Kranky
Price: 10.49 USD

"A massive, psych-heavy, art-damaged five-piece, and one of the most inspired new bands we've heard in quite a while. Deerhunter's forthcoming Kranky debut is likely to make them one of the most talked-about bands of 2007." - Pitchfork

Cryptograms, Deerhunter's second full-length, is a triumph over adversity. The band almost dissolved after a disastrous first attempt at recording but pulled together a year later to give it another go--resulting in an highly anticipated return. In the words of Tiny Mixtapes, which rated the album 4.5 out 5: "Cryptograms will either elicit a re-appreciation of pop in numerous bitter misanthropes or completely acid-fry the unsuspecting songwriters who were already predisposed to these strange sounds they'd been unknowingly waiting to hear." -Tiny Mixtapes (rated 4.5/5)

PANDA BEAR & EXCEPTER
Title: Carrot/KKKKK
Format: 12"
Label: Paw Tracks
Price: 7.39 USD

Paw Tracks continues its sporadic release of split 12" records with installment number two featuring Animal Collective member Panda Bear and long-time NYC anti-music makers Excepter. Panda Bear previews material from his upcoming solo record with the extended medley "Carrots." Sampled beats and sunshine harmonies dominate. It's a musical 180 from his Young Prayer record. Excepter expands upon their musical excavations with the piece "KKKKK". There are five tracks within the piece, each one recorded live and edited later, each one chock full of dense dark Excepter-y goodness. Words are ultimately hard to come by for a band that is writing its own musical language.Together these two whip it up mean, sweet and sour.

BUSDRIVER
Title: Roadkill Overcoat
Format: CD/LP
Label: Epitaph
Price: 9.99 USD / 8.49 USD

Busdriver, well-known among fans of weird-out, cerebral hip hop, has retuned with his fifth full-length and first for Epitaph, home to the beloved emcee Sage Francis. Roadkill Overcoat, produced by sought after beat masters Boom Bip and Nobody, highlights Busdriver's distinctive voice and incredulously rapid delivery, while taking a cue from Outkast and soldering elements of straight-up pop, rock, and psych with classic hip hop bombast. In further gestures of genre-smashing bridge-building, Roadkill Overcoat features guest vocals from CocoRosie's Bianca Casady, and Busdriver is currently playing with Deerhoof and will later join RJD2 for the last half of his national tour.

HIDDEN HAND
Title: The Resurrection Of Whiskey Foote
Format: CD
Label: Southern Lord
Price: 9.99 USD

The Resurrection Of Whiskey Foote is the third Hidden Hand full-length (second on Southern Lord) and features the lineup that recorded the now sold out/out of print EP from last years "Devoid Of Color" EP. ROWF is not necessarily a concept album but it is heavily themed with historical story-based lyricism. Musically there is a subtle southern or classic rock vibe that creeps into the foundation of their brand of dark, heavy, progressive rock. Hidden Hand will hit the road with Kylesa to tour the USA in late January through February. A European tour is being planned for April.

LANDED
Title: Times I Despise
Format: LP
Label: Load
Price: 8.89 USD

Mush mouthed blabber backed up by underwater cold filtered mud cannons. Songs tell adult themed tales not safe for work, rest or play. Members of this band are/have been in Olneyville Sound System, Pleasurehorse, Chinese Stars, Six Finger Satellite.... etc. Guitar, bass and drums never sounded so silly. Like changing a tire on the space shuttle, this had to be done.

ROTTING CHRIST
Title: Theogonia
Format: CD(enhanced)+DVD
Label: Season Of Mist
Price: 12.49 USD

"Coinciding with the 20th band and 15th recording anniversary, Greek scene stalwarts ROTTING CHRIST are back with another sonic assault, titled "Theogonia". They went through a big evolution throughout the years and definitely have found their own niche in the Metal scene, not least thanks to the very characteristic voice of fronter Sakis Tolis and also the atmosphere they build up in their compositions. The opener "The Sign Of Prime Creation" at first gives us some spoken word, before furious drumwork sets in, over which a great typically majestic ROTTING CHRIST riff takes its place to offer the listener warmth amidst rhythmic variety, grand melodies and an excellent choir, making this a memorable effort from the get-go on. Even only now it becomes obvious that the Greeks have found an almost perfect balance between Black Metallic fury, some Gothic-influenced melodies, the choir and the courage to try a few not so usual elements in their sound, to the best effect! ...The continuing evolution of the band makes it hard to really rank the albums among each other, but "Theogonia" stands very, very high up there in their career and if you like this style, I URGE you to give it a listen and buy it (not download it, quality has to be supported by actually doing the right thing and buy it!)!" - From The Metal Observer.

The enhanced CD features video clips and wallpapers, the DVD features footage from the 'Sanctus Diavolos' tour + the making of 'Theogonia.'

Thirteen examples of music played with the high-speed intensity of Russian ice hockey. Michael Maksymenko ended his promising hockey career from a bicycle accident at age 14 and began composing music with the same technical skill, improvised choreography and telepathic collectivism as he used on the ice. Teamed up with twins Thomas and Stefan Agaton, Maksymenko recorded these first two in '80 and '81 and has more recently played on Crazy Backwards Alphabet w/ Henry Kaiser and John French.

This highly anticipated debut from San Francisco's LSD and the Search for God is a masterful collection of five lysergic-dipped gems delightfully reminiscent of the early Creation Records sound. The band combines psych, space rock and shoegaze, creating a polyphony of swirled guitars, flirtatious boy/girl vocals, dreamy pop hooks and fuzzed out drones.
